Curtis Jonnie aka Shingoose with Duke Redbird
I have been friends with Duke Redbird since 65 We even shared a house in Toronto for a year. Duke was President of the Indian/metis Assoc. and through him I met most of the leading native politicians and performers etc. of that era. 1972-74. Somehow Duke and I had to move. I found a superb 3 bedroom apartment on Spadina and moved in. i wasn't there a couple of weeks when Duke called. he couldn't find a place. so I gave up my bedroom to him and girlfriend. Then Curtis Johnnie (Shingoose) and Willie Dunn showed up with their girlfriends. they just got to Toronto and needed a place to stay. i was relegated to my 3rd bedroom with my 25 aquariums. I lasted 3 months before I said enough. But I remained friends and appreciate their enormous talent.
